How Often Should Wheelie Bins Be Cleaned?

A wheelie bin should be cleaned often enough that food residue, liquid waste and grime are not left to build up between collections. For many households, a regular 4-weekly clean is a practical routine.
That does not mean every bin must be cleaned every four weeks. A lightly used recycling bin may need attention less often, while a general waste or food-contaminated bin may need cleaning more frequently.
